There are so many choices available for pool building materials these days that it can be difficult to settle on just one. You have fiberglass, vinyl, poured concrete, and even above ground pools to consider. However, none of these options are the best on the market. The material proven to get the finest results is clearly gunite. It offers a variety of benefits that other materials don’t when it comes to versatility and overall value.
Gunite is a mixture of dry cement and sand that is created before adding water. The material is then sprayed onto the pool surface, and water is added right before it comes out of the tube. Once the mixture hardens, you have the base for the pool just like you would with any other material. The difference is that, because it is sprayed on, the pool can be created in virtually any shape imaginable. It also lets you work with the landscape, rather than against it. In this way, natural or unnatural aspects of the yard can be preserved. The pool is able to fit with your needs, instead of the other way around.
2. Easier to Construct
Without having to remodel the entire yard or deal with variables like temperature, the gunite pool is much easier to build. You are also in control of the building process with a gunite pool, allowing for a simpler experience. For instance, the finishes available are easy to add and come in a wide array of colors and textures, allowing for much easier customization. Additionally, because you don’t have to worry about anything unpredictable, the building time is shorter and construction ends up being cheaper than with other kinds of pools.
Like poured concrete, gunite is a long-lasting material and offers some of the best warranties on the market today. This makes even the most exotically shaped pool a great value for your money. The durability of the material comes from the ease with which it can be cleaned. You can vacuum the pool or, providing your area permits it, water can even be drained completely. This is a huge advantage over other materials, especially if there is an issue with chemicals. Just be sure to check with an official before emptying the water.
